God writes the gospel not in the Bible alone,
but on trees and flowers and clouds and stars.
~ Martin Luther

Rainforest is very important to all us, it's our provider of natural resources, habitat of animals and plants and God's creation that we people must do everything we can to preserve and protect it.

Protecting the nature is our responsible as a human being. We are above knowledgeable among god's creature, among plants and animals. We people also depend on them for survival, so we have to be concern about it.

Philippines has a lot of Rainforest, like in Palawan. Wherein almost 25 percent of all animal species in the country are only can be seen on Palawan. Palawan is not only famous from white sand beaches, island coves, and wonderful views that photographers love, but also the base of different trees, varieties of plants and insects and maybe some that still need to be discover.

Illegal logging is the main threat of all rainforests not only in the country but around the world. Cutting trees can trigger land slides and floods, that may result damages to people.

I believe that everyone of us has responsibility to protect and save our nature, there's til time to do it. Let's be part of different activities and acts that support the rainforest.

We find relaxation through peace of mind or just by enjoying a hobby. You can say that you are relax when you feel good about yourself, no worries and having so much fun

Stress that caused us to feel so discomfort and may lead our mind control to the worse. If you worry much and always in tension, it's possible for you to overreact at some scenarios.
By practicing relaxation, stress can be gone and you'll earn more confidence to handle problems in life. Also through relaxation we can enjoy more better, think and concentrate more better, be energetic and healthier.

Nature has a lot of great things to share with us. We consider nature as an excellent stress relief technique. Meditation for example, is best to practice outside the room, to feel the
fresh air, and the tranquility of the environment.

Camiguin is said to be "The Island Born of Fire" host for seven volcanoes. Eruptions of volcanoes become the reasons of some land movement and other changes for the island.

What makes the Camiguin more fascinating is their Sunken Cemetery. These happens a long time ago when the Mount Vulcan had erupted, that bring about human fatalities and damages. The worst eruption made the whole capital of Camiguin, and it's cemetery to sunk under water. The eruption sink the area to around twenty feet deeper, people built a large cross made by solidified lava, it represent as a mark to the site of their ancestor's grave.

Upon seeing the paradise of Camiguin, I become more enthusiastic about the nature. Hope to visit Camiguin and all the great places from the Philippines before I say goodbye to my singlehood.

Listening to nature

Posted by jam on Monday, February 15, 2010 , under | comments (0)

Have you ever find yourself listening to nature?
If you are living in the city and you suddenly feel like escaping from the hectic world and strains in life, The only way to find the inner peace is to listen to nature.

Life in college puts me a lot of worries and tensions, specially when we are taking thesis. I never thought that it's gonna be that hard, though we give a lot of efforts, it's still not enough. Research here, and there, conduct interviews, programming til midnight, creating miniature for demo, and the demanding schedules is just like nerve-racking for us. There comes a point of just breaking down and felt like helpless, we asked ourselves if we'll continue or not, if we continue then, we have to deal with the disturbing thesis or just let it our chances flown away. We give ourselves a moment to think it over, my friend and also a teammate who lives to village away from noise of the town, invited our other team mates to have some time to relax. We try to leave everything away and just let our minds be at peace. The place is so quiet, you can only hear the crickets chirping, the sound of the wind howls that keeps the leaves swaying and dancing. I wonder how they make such a wonderful and soothing sounds, the tune of nature that you can't experience inside the city. It gives us the perfect time to think for our thesis and to decide. Luckily after months of preparations we did pass the thesis...

I can say that listening to nature is truly an anxiety and stress reliever.

Ideal place to chill and relax

Though we have a list of most beautiful places to visit, still we have to consider some ideal place that would fit our choice. In able to get a relax and enjoyable break, you have to figure the best place for you.

Holy week vacation plan, I sometimes wonder why every holy week people are going to beach, resort, and having fun...?! Well maybe that's their only way to get a vacation, but I hope they still give time to pray. For me the place to visit every holy week are the churches, Filipino have the "Bisita Iglesia" it's a tradition wherein you have to attend a mass to all the churches you visit. Since Holy week is for our God, we have to spend it in a peaceful way...

Summer plans, for me summer is not the best time to swim in the beach...(eerr) I'm afraid my skin will get more darker..unlike those mestiza girls who love to go to beach just to get tan, I prefer going to the adventure park instead. Rock climbing, rappelling, fishing, kart racing are just some of the activities you can try in an adventure park.

Rainy days are not time for vacations, but if you have a chance to unwind, where it could be? Hot spring resort for me is perfect. Laguna has a lot of hot spring resort, you can rent a private or a public resort in a very affordable rate. You can try spa massage while staying at the resort, to experience a very relaxing feeling, it helps rejuvenate you from stress and depression from work or if you're preparing for your wedding.

No matter where you choose to relax, stay or to visit, what important is you have enjoyed! =)

Looking for a nice setting this Valentines day? Need to impress your love ones? Or do you want to hear her say "Yes, I do"?
Valentines days comes only once a year, so it must be special and very romantic. Also a perfect timing to make your wife or girlfriend feel that they're special and loved.

Of course when preparing or planning for something romantic, you must have an idea on how to celebrate it. I've seen this in the movie hope it can give a little help. This goes to all men who don't have big budgets to spend this Valentines. The usual movie date can also be very romantic if you'll just add a little gimik, just have to unleash your romantic side ...(Ding ding!) You can set up your own big screen in your yard or inside your house, you can decorate the place to make it more like a cinema. Have a list of romantic movie choices, prepare food according to your partners choices, if your girlfriends a bit child like, you can prepare pop corn, pizzas, sweet candies and ice cream but if not, try cook something that could pleases her taste. A man who knows how to cook is a plus so must try cooking or at least learn how to. After the movie, you can surprise her with flowers. But aside from flowers try also giving something unique gifts to remember, it could be a book, card, stuff toys or art crafts made by you. Valentines day doesn't always need to be very expensive, what important is how you celebrate it with love.

But from those who have a bigger budgets, date on cruise is a great idea. Mostly if your attempt is for a proposal and romantic memorable date for a lifetime. If you want you can hire a private yacht or try going to Manila Bay Dining Cruises. They served fine dining and live entertainment. You can enjoy watching the sunset and take a picture while taking a trip. Sure you'll love looking at the night scene of The Manila Skyline and The SM Mall of Asia. By then, you can start asking her about your proposals or plans, just be honest and words must be comes to your heart.

As they say "Love is in the Air" Valentines can be any other day, if you have a lot of love and wisdom to your heart. You can express your love and feelings in any other way no matter how much budget you have, what counts is how you make your love ones feel special.

First time to fly?

Posted by jam on Friday, January 29, 2010 , under , , | comments (0)

Going to a trip, planning a vacation, or preparing for a wedding in local, far places in Philippines such as Bicol, Leyte,  Bohol, Davao, Cebu, and many more? I can say that airplane flight is the fastest and efficient way in going there. It only takes just 2-3 hours or maybe less than an hour in going to far provinces if through planes. It is really more efficient and faster compared to buses.

Air trip is not that easy for first time flyers. Some will feel afraid of flying. Some will feel nervousness and anxiety. To be comfortable, these tips will help:

* Let the airline staff or flight attendant know that it is your first time to be in a flight. Some flight attendants come by and check how you're feeling and sometimes, talk and entertain you so that you would forget that you're in a plane. You could also ask questions and tips on how to overcome the fear and be more comfortable about flying.

* Bring some items such as MP3, Portable DVD Player, pillow, stuff toy, Mini TV, or a stress ball. This can help reduce fear because it will help you not to focus in flying.

* Eat foods such as french fries, chips, and cookies.

These are only some of the tips for overcoming the fear of flying. But sometimes, you need to be careful because it also needs medication. The most important thing is to be sure of the body condition before flying, specially for people with heart diseases.

Want some Chocolate Hills?

The first time I saw the picture of Chocolate Hills, I thought it is real hills of chocolates. But I was only in grade school then, I always thought of Hershey's kisses whenever I'm looking at those pictures. But when my older siblings told me that it wasn't made of chocolate I felt disappointed and kinda sad (haha!) Of course being a kid  who have a lot of wild and silly imaginations, I just wish it was real. I once imagined to go there so I can eat as much chocolate I want (What a Dummy!), Anyways now I'm not fantasizing to eat the hills of chocolate anymore, but what I want to do when I got there is to take a lot of pictures and to spend vacation with my family.

Chocolate Hills have a lot of legend and story on how it was formed. Old people believe that it was the giant named Arogo who cried hard after the lost of his girlfriend. His tears scattered from the land dried and become chocolate hills. Another tale is about the two giants who fought and throw rocks at each other, the fight lasted for several days. When the two giant left they forgot to clean their mess and that formed the chocolate hills.

But the true reason of it's Chocolate appearance is because of the dry season, grass that grows all over the hills dies, leaving a dark brown colour just like chocolates. Chocolate Hills is made up of about 1,776, cone-shaped or dome-shaped hills according to wikipedia. Best tourist attraction of Bohol, and was voted as candidate of the Seven Natural Wonders of the Earth.
